We're still Independant! Click to learn more

It seems almost strange to have to make the claim, but we are still an independently owned and operated eye doctors office here in Amarillo. And that’s important because everything we do has to make sense for people here in Amarillo.

There’s actually a fast growing trend in the eye care industry. And that is for large groups with deep pockets to buy excellent eye care practices that have been independently owned for decades. When they do that, they usually have corporate investors to please. This means that instead of working for you and your family, these eye doctors offices are now working towards whatever the corporate company that owns them tells them to do.

This isn’t a new idea for businesses in Amarillo. Eye doctors, dentists, banks and many other industries get bought and sold by private equity groups. But it is happening faster than usual. And the results usually aren’t better service, quality or even reduced price.

So you may have been seeing your favorite eye doctor here in Amarillo for decades, and now things feel different. There’s a good chance your eye doctor isn’t a small business any more. That’s why our eye doctors in Amarillo and Borger are proud to  be independent. We’re happy to be able to offer great values like our free Optos screening in our Amarillo office.

So if you are in the market for a new eye doctor in Amarillo, please choose one (like us!) who’s main focus is you. Support local business. See a local eye doctor!
